Andrew Courtney's photographic portfolios include major works made in Viet Nam,
Cuba, Central America, South Africa and most recently the Palestinian
territories.
Much of this photography emerges from his concern for
making images where cultural, historical and social differences meet.
Throughout his career as an artist, Courtney has seen teaching and
social change as important ingredients in the mix of his art intentions.
The photographs of 'African Palestinians' are portraits that eschew the artistic and ironic, preferring a direct intimacy that is intended to work in context with a narrative.
